Whichpond Music
How to download, view, and print your order -
Your music will be delivered to you in one of two ways: as email attachments, or as a link which leads to the files on my website.
Download your music as attachments
The majority of Whichpond Music purchases will be delivered this way. The .PDF files for each piece you order will be bundled into a .ZIP file. (For instance, if you purchase the Holst Second Suite transcribed for wind quintet, the .ZIP file will contain 6 .PDF files: 1 score and 5 individual parts.) These .ZIP files will be sent to you as email attachments. (I will usually send 2 or 3 .ZIP files per email, so if you purchase more than three pieces your order will be sent in multiple emails.) When the email arrives click on each attachment to unzip it and the individual PDF files will be downloaded to your computer. This will happen automatically on most computers.
Download files from my website
If you order a large quantity of music it is often more efficient to download it all at once rather than as separate files. If this is the case I will email a link to you along with a user name and password. Simply click on the link, enter the user name and password, and the .ZIP file will be downloaded to your computer. As above, it should automatically unzip, allowing you to access each individual .PDF file.
Viewing and printing .PDF files
You can view .PDF files by using programs such as Adobe Acrobat Reader (Windows & Mac) and Preview (Mac). Most computers have a .PDF viewer already installed, so simply double clicking on a .PDF file will open it in the correct program. From there, just print it as you would any document.
Disclaimer
Every computer user's setup is different: type of computer, browser, email client, etc. Very occasionally there will be problems in the delivery process. Usually, it has to do with a customer's email client not accepting attachments (typically AOL, school, and military addresses), or, a user's SPAM filter is set too high and mail from unfamiliar addresses is automatically sent to the trash. If it looks like there might be a problem with your address I will contact you to work out an alternate delivery method. Likewise, if you haven't heard from me within a day after you place your order, it's likely that I have tried contacting you but my messages didn't get through for some reason. Contact me by email or phone and we'll work it out.
It is also possible that some older computers don't have the correct software installed on them. If you are having trouble unzipping or viewing the files I send, contact me and I'll help you out.
Copyright
One more thing- music delivered as .PDF files is copyrighted just like a score from a traditional music store. You are welcome to print as many copies as you and your group need but please don't distribute it to others, whether for free or for profit. Have fun playing the music, but be cool about it.
Thanks,
David
