This piece was written as a gift for two musicians I admire, one of whom I have performed with often. I emailed the piece to him, and...nothing. Maybe he never received it, maybe he didn't want to waste paper printing it out, or maybe he just doesn't like the cut of my jib. What happened? As Shakespeare said, "I don't know." The title was taken from Whitman.
